In 2002, after I struggled to find a suitable 80th birthday card for my late mother-in-law. I bought a few sheets of card, some basic tools and equipment and once it was finished, there was no going back, I caught the bug. She was absolutely delighted with it.
It started off in a corner of the living room and has grown, so much that the bedroom which my son used until he left home became my craft room. In May 2016 we moved into a bungalow and once again I have converted one bedroom into, not only my craft room, but my office. I have now outgrown the house and in December 2018 had a lovely cabin constructed in the garden – “Crafty Cal’s Cabin”. Callers welcome - no obligation.
I have always enjoyed making things and was a big fan of Blue Peter and sticky back plastic and washing up bottles. I learnt to knit and crochet before I could read and write and later used to make my own clothes. I now enjoy making things with my Grandchildren.
Many people have purchased my cards over the years, including local outlets, various craft fayres and my valued regular customers.
In June 2018, I retired from work and hope to expand my card making hobby. My passion is parchment craft although this can be very time-consuming and not really cost effective, but it is very therapeutic. All sorts of designs can be adapted and the beauty of it is that each one is unique.
I have also set up and designed this website myself following an evening college course and hope you enjoy browsing it. If you wish to place an order, please either email or telephone me with your requirements making sure you leave your name, address and telephone contact number in addition to your email address and any special personalised details you wish me to add. I will try to despatch orders within 48 working hours from receipt of cleared funds, however, as the cards are made to order, it would be appreciated if you could give as much notice as possible. I will advise at the time of ordering if I require additional time e.g. if I need to re-order materials for special projects. Please allow enough time for personalising your choice and advise the latest date you need to receive it by. I can accept payments via PayPal, however, if you do not have a PayPal account, I also accept cash.
Postage and packing will be charged at cost and will be advised when an order acknowledgement is sent to you. As a rough guide, one card will cost £1.50, two cards £1.85 three cards £2.20 as at 7th November 2024 to mainland UK. Overseas postage costs will be advised on an individual basis. Postage costs for gifts will be advised at time of enquiry/order.
